Quilter and cat
lover Jillian Hart and her new husband, police chief, Tom
Stewart, are settling into married life at their home in Mercy,
South Carolina. Early one morning, their friend, Shawn Cuddahee,
owner of the Mercy Animal Sanctuary, calls for help. A sweet
woman in town, Minnie Schultz, has her neighbors worried when
several of her indoor cats are roaming around outside.
Not long after, Minnie is found wandering
around on the streets, with a tote bag and a kitten in it.
Then a dead body is found in Minnie's house, and it happens
to be Chester Winston, the county animal control officer.
Who just happens to have a restraining order out against Shawn.
The obvious question is did Shawn kill Chester?
Could Minnie have done it? What's with all the extra cats
on Minnie's property and where did all the boxes and boxes
of items delivered by UPS and FEDEX in her house come from?
I have to say I just couldn't put this book
down! MyShelf has had other reviewers doing this series for
the most part, and now I'm sorry I haven't read every single
book that goes before this one. It was a fantastic read. I
was on the edge of my seat waiting to find out how the author
would put all of this together, and she did a fantastic job.
I became emotionally involved in the main
characters, and of course, the cats! The mystery and the interconnecting
sub-stories were woven together perfectly. I highly recommend
this book to cozy lovers, cat lovers, and those who love a
good southern feel about their mysteries! Given the number
of cats in this book, I'll give it at least 200 paws up! |
