Feliz Navidead reintroduces Rita Lafitte, a chef in the local café, who has a knack of getting involved with criminal behavior. This time, her daughter, Claire, plays one of the devils in the Christmas holiday play and her prime and proper mother is visiting for the holidays. A devil is murdered during the first night of the play and Rita happens to stumble upon the dead actor and a prime suspect. Can Rita keep her nose out of trying to solve the case or will she go all out in order to protect her daughter?

Rita is a fun character to read along with her friends, especially elderly Flori and her gang of knitters. Myers writes with humor at the right moments to lessen the intensity of the detecting and Rita’s course of actions. The relationship between Rita and her mother is amusing and I am sure that many readers will be able to relate. Most of the relationships between characters will be appreciated by readers. The plot of the murder and finding out whodunit was well written with just enough suspects and twists.

Feliz Navidead is a fun, cozy murder mystery that any fan of the genre will appreciate. The novel includes some delicious recipes of food items discussed throughout the book. I have not read the two previous novels in this series and was able to follow along with no issue, and I will be picking up the first two to read.
