Amy-Faye Johnson is an event planner and member of the Readaholics book club in Heaven, Colorado. Naturally, she's handling the debut of her brother Derek's grand opening of his brew-pub, Elysium Brewing. The opening is a success, even though a group of women arrive, protesting against Derek's partner, Gordon Marsh. When the two pub owners disappear, Amy-Faye finds them on the roof, arguing, and later discovers Gordon's body in the dumpster behind the building. When Derek is arrested as the most likely suspect, Amy-Faye enlists her book club friends to help solve the case by searching for connections between possible suspects, just as Poirot did on the Orient Express. Detective Lindell Hart and the other police try to put together a time line to solve the case, and like Murder on the Orient Express, this case has its share of suspects, each with solid motives for hating Gordon Marsh. But will any of those reasons point to the actual murderer?

The Readaholics and the Poirot Puzzle is filled with sufficient red herrings to keep me guessing to the end. Several suspects had solid reasons for killing Gordon, a womanizer possibly responsible for his niece's death. While Amy-Faye and Detective Hart separate their growing attraction from the murder investigation, I hope that romance blooms in future releases. While this is the second release in the series, it can stand on its own as a great mystery. Amy-Faye is an intelligent, caring protagonist, and I hope to read more of her sleuthing adventures soon.

Ms. DiSilverio has written a thoroughly enjoyable mystery with all the elements I love: a complex cozy mystery with sufficient clues to keep my curiosity whetted, entertaining and well-developed secondary characters, just the right touch of humor, and a fast-moving plot that stands out among the rest.
