Let's venture back to San Ladron and drop in on Poly (Polyester) Monroe and her fabric shop, Material Girl, as she prepares for the San Ladron Miss Tangorli Beauty Pageant. Poly receives a proposed contract for her shop, Material Girl, to work with the pageant providing the material for the contestant's dresses, and in the process pull in a good sum of money. However, when the event sponsor, Harvey Halliwell, owner of the Citrus King, is murdered just days before the pageant, Poly sets out to try to find the killer and keep herself from being juiced in the process.

This is the third book in the Material Witness mystery series written by Diane Vallere and my first experience into this world. I found this mystery to be an intriguing, page-turning, suspenseful good time! This book can also be read as a stand-alone book, as the author provides plenty of juicy backstory to keep the reader up-to-date. The characters are well written and full of zest for life, which comes through in their fun banter and actions. I can't wait to get to know Poly more, as she was definitely my favorite character in the series!

Overall, Silk Stalkings was a fast read full of descriptive passages, lively characters and a book full of juicy intrigue. And don't forget to check out the fun crafting project in the back of the book!

Reviewer Notes: Also writes the Costume Shop Mystery series.
