Unfortunately, Lacy’s streak of being
on the scene when murder victims are found is not over, and
this time, the dead man is a friend of her father’s,
and dear old Dad becomes suspect number one! Detective Jack
Oliver doesn’t want to arrest her dad, the local veterinarian,
but he was the last one seen with the victim, Wallace Becker!
Mr. Becker was found dead in the walk-in freezer at the event
hall he owned, where Lacy was delivering baked good for a
Bark-Mitzvah.
Lacy has had some luck uncovering clues and
bringing killers to justice twice before, but this time it’s
her Dad’s freedom at stake, not to mention the community
service award Dr. Crocker is about to receive and the big
dinner her mother is throwing to honor him. Lord knows society
events are important as well as clearing the family name,
so Lacy’s got to race to solve this crime before it’s
too late!
I love, love, love this series and am thrilled
that book number three did not disappoint me in the least!
Julie Chase spins a good mystery while keeping her characters
and their relationships growing. The pets are adorable, and
the New Orleans atmosphere springs forth through the pages.
With romance, rivalries, humor, and mystery,
you can’t go wrong with A Kitty Couture Mystery. The
book (as with the whole series) is appropriate for ages teen
and up and would make a fantastic book club selection.
