Lily Dale is a most unusual
small town. The population consists of mostly psychics and
mediums, and is a popular place for tourists with an interest
in having their futures read for them. There are also ghosts
and children to keep things even more lively.
Bella
Jordan has lived there for a fairly short amount of time but
has already been involved in solving some murders. She still
hesitates to believe in magical phenomena, but it shows itself
to her again and again. She happens to be looking out her
window when a killer dumps a corpse into the nearby lake.
The killer has seen her at the window and vows to silence
her. He is spooked by a black cat but intends to come back
later.
Meanwhile,
Jiffy Arden, a precocious kid, sees the killer as he chases
the black cat. Jiffy has foreseen his own kidnapping, and
he has told Bella’s six- year- old son, Max, about it.
When Jiffy actually does disappear, Max is distraught and
is physically ill. Then another body is discovered…
I’ve
loved each book in the series, and this one is quite suspenseful.
Wendy Corsi Staub is a prolific writer with a fantastic imagination
and expressiveness that draws the reader in. With enough twists
and turns to keep you guessing, the avid mystery reader who
enjoys a strong element of the paranormal will be thrilled
with this book. In fact, I recommend the whole series!
“Dead
of Winter” is available for pre-order now and the official
release date is November 7, 2017.
