The League of Literary Ladies is still keeping busy with their reading and
their active lives on South Bass Island. They are currently
reading Gone With the Wind, but it strikes a sour
note because of a new B&B called “Tara” on
the island. This new B&B has taken away all of the business
from their member Bea Cartwright’s inn.
When local realtor Vivien Frisk is murdered in her late aunt
Estelle’s house, the suspects range from the famous
twins who own Tara, to a man who was burned in a real estate
deal, to various paramours, to the league’s own Chanda
– whose husband Vivien stole twenty years before! That
leaves it to Bea, Kate and Luella to clear the name of one
of their own.
While I’ve long enjoyed Kylie Logan’s other books,
this is the first one I’ve read in this series, and
now I plan to go back and read the previous four. The mystery
is well-plotted, and the cast of characters carefully constructed.
I didn’t need to know much of their backgrounds to understand
who was who and how their friendships evolved, but it will
be interesting to read the first four to discover how things
played out.
If you are looking for an enjoyable page-turner, with enough
twists to keep you guessing and a satisfying outcome, you
won’t go wrong with Gone With The Twins. Highly
recommended!
