Brew
pub owner Maxine “Max” O’Hara is getting
ready to celebrate Oktoberfest in a big way in her pub, by
going all out with a 'oompah' band. But before she signs off
on the band, she and friends go to see the band play. Unfortunately,
the night ends with a snag when a mistaken identity turns
Candy's attitude sour. However, it looks like Candy may be
hiding something when a body turns up dead and Candy isn't
offering up any information about her past and why she is
interested in the deceased.
I have
been in love with this series from the very first brew filled
page of the first book and this book is no different. I knew
that when I started this book I wasn't going to be able to
put it down, and I was right. This mystery sucked me in and
didn't let go until I finished the last page of bubble-filled
mystery and suspense. And boy-oh-boy is this mystery a good
one; full of twists and turns, it had me guessing right up
until the end...and I was still wrong!
The characters
in this series are so realistic and fun. I love the relationship
between Max and Jake. They can stand on their own as intriguing,
but put them together and there is a special chemistry that
starts to bubble and brew and I have loved seeing their relationship
deepen. The entire cast of supporting characters each bring
a unique ingredient to the story as well, making the story
a good mash.
The mystery
will have you guessing right up until the end and the beer
and food will have you drooling all the way through. Don't
miss out on the mouth-watering recipes in the back of the
book to help satisfy your growling belly!
