Once
again Linda Wiken has dished up another great mystery with
Roux the Day, the second book in the Dinner Club Mystery series!
When we begin the story, J.J. Tanner is working on a casino
fund-raising event for a non-profit charity aboard a cruise
boat on Champlain. To make the event smashing, she has brought
in DJ Connor Mac and TV personality Miranda Myers. However,
when Miranda is found dead, old friend Connor Mac gets placed
front and center as the number one murder suspect. J.J. again
finds herself in the middle of a murder mystery and needs
to find the murderer before Connor goes down for murder, or
worse, she herself ends up on the chopping block.
Once
again, I was instantly enamored with this book for the beautiful
cover, but I also loved the entire cast of the Dinner Club
characters! The characters are fun-loving and well written
and they stick together. I am still waiting for my invitation
to one of their monthly Culinary Capers dinners! Linda did
another fabulous job of scripting a nice, delicious little
mystery, which I again thoroughly enjoyed reading. Everything
about this series is wonderful. My only complaint is that
I get so engrossed that I end up reading them way too fast!
Don't forget to check the back of the book for some delicious
recipes to try in your own kitchen! I can't wait to see what
is next for J.J. and her band of Culinary Capers in Marinating
in Murder, which you can read an excerpt of in the back of
the book!
