Laurel Inwood manages the
restaurant called Terminal at the Tracks in Hubbard. Ohio.
She is good at the job, running the place for her Aunt Sophie
and putting ethnic foods on the menu to go along with the
usual small-town fare.
One day while getting things ready to open,
she finds a body in the walk-in freezer. And it’s not
just any old body. It is her former employer and Hollywood
star Meghan Cohan. After blaming Laurel for leaks to the media,
Meghan fired Laurel. Laurel was furious at Megan for not only
firing her but for blackballing her among the Hollywood elite.
Laurel is a suspect in the murder because
of the discord and because of the location of Meghan’s
body. Once again she isn’t guilty, but this time she
not only has to clear her name and reputation, she also has
to help find the killer before she becomes the next victim!
Engaging and smart,
this is an enjoyable mystery and can be read as a stand-alone,
but personally, I am glad that I read the previous two books
so that I am familiar with the characters and got to revisit
them and their relationships. Especially Laurel and her hunky
boyfriend Declan. A visit to Hubbard is a delightful trip
you can take without ever having to leave your comfy chair.
Highly recommended!!
