Private:
Gold
takes place in South Africa. Johannesburg is the largest city,
founded in 1880 as a Gold Rush City, a city where everyone
wants to be a rich.
Khosi
Khumalo was a trained bodyguard and Private investigator who
started Private Johannesburg. He brought Joey Montague in
as a partner. Things haven’t been well lately; their
last contract canceled, someone broke into the office and
now Khosi is dead. Joey decides to move the office to his
home. Joey gets a call from a nervous American name Isobel
Collins. She’s in need of a body guard while in Johannesburg.
She has yet to tell him why she’s in the most dangerous
part of town or what she’s up to. Joey calls Private
owner, Jack Morgan. Jack tells Joey his job as a close protection
officer is not to get in Isobel’s way or to stop her,
but to keep her safe while she does it. That’s all Joey
needs to hear. The only person who knows Isobel is on a secret
mission in South Africa is her girlfriend back in America.
When Joey and Isobel finally meet up, all hell breaks loose.
It’s
complicated mystery in a short story format. The authors focus
on the characters and the suspense. The clues unfold slowly
in the midst of all the action, and then it’s all over.
The ending leaves us wanting more of Private Johannesburg
team.
Actor
& Singer Robert Petkoff gives listeners a clear, convincing
narration of Private Gold. He has narrated a variety
of fiction and nonfiction audiobooks, with the longest narration
list is mystery and suspense.
