Island Lighthouse Library in North Carolina is also home to
librarian Lucy Richardson. She loves her work and that she
lives in the lighthouse. A wealthy businessman is looking
to donate his collection of North Carolina historical documents,
and the library is on the short list of facilities he would
donate to.
It’s Halloween
time, and the spooks are afoot. There are strange things happening,
and Lucy isn’t immune to them. She sees a ghost spirit
materializing from the mist. There’s a model ship on
display, and its crew members seem to move all on their own!
When the businessman, Jay Ruddle, is murdered while he is
in the rare books section of the library, chaos comes into
play. Who would have been so bold as to commit this heinous
crime in the library while others are outside enjoying a lecture
on ghostly stories from the Outer Banks?
Author Eva Gates
does a spectacular job of bringing readers right into the
midst of the mystery, and I am thrilled to find a new book
in this fun series! You’ll enjoy the atmosphere of the
library and the Outer Banks and Halloween while getting to
know Lucy and the other characters and trying to figure out
whodunnit and why.
Smart, fun, and
thoroughly enjoyable, you won’t want to miss “The
Spook in the Stacks.”
