Shelby
Cox is a bookseller and there’s almost nothing a bookseller
likes more than to have a famous author visit for a book signing
or two. However, when true-crime author Savannah Page arrives
she’s not just doing book signings. She’s going
to spend in the guest suite of Blye Castle, which is also
the location of Bayside Books’ summer shop. Bayside
Books' main store is in Alexandria Bay, New York.
Savannah Page is murdered, and her body is discovered in a
secret passage. Although Shelby barely knew Savannah, she
is determined to find out how a killer got on and off the
island so she launches her own investigation.
There are many things I like about this book. The setting
is unique and the author is very descriptive helping a reader
to imagine the castle and bookshop. At times though, it felt
too descriptive. It wasn’t bad, but the phrase “less
is more” came to mind a couple of times while I was
reading.
That said all in all this is a very good cozy mystery I enjoyed
reading about characters from the first book as well as meeting
some new people. The series has great potential, and I adore
most of the books the author has written over the years.
You need not read the first book in the series before you
read this one, but it can’t hurt to do so.
