I never read the first book in this series, The Fog Ladies,
however, you really don't need to. Book 2 is its own mystery
from start to finish. The author is really great about telling
you about all of the characters and their back stories. I
did find it kind of odd that she referred to them by their
proper names and titles, instead of just calling them by their
first names. Other than that, I liked the book. It was fun,
engaging and fast paced.
You will fall in love with the quirky
characters and you will begin to understand why they are the
way they are. What their lives used to be like and how they
are today. This group of Ladies all live in the same building
and they support and take care of each other, like a big extended
family.
There are plenty of twists and turns
along the way and the bad person is someone that you would
least expect. However, there are very subtle clues along the
way, so pay attention and collect them until the end. See
if you can put the clues all together and name the killer
before the author does.
One of the main reasons I wanted to
review this book was because the backdrop was in some of my
favorite places along the California coast. It took me back
to my younger years and to some places that I loved to frequent.
If you are looking for something fun
to read this summer while you are sitting in your comfy chair,
this is one you should pick up. Enjoy!
