Chilson,
Michigan is excited about their Fourth of July fireworks display.
Bookmobile librarian Minnie Hamilton is also excited to show
her visiting niece, Katrina, the festivities.
Katrina is visiting for the summer and the plan is for her
to get a summer job. Her reluctance to do so becomes apparent,
but finally, she gets three part-time jobs around town. She
also demands to be called Kate from now on because she’s
sick of the jokes about the hurricane.
After the fireworks, Katrina/Kate trips over a dead man. Rex
Stuhler was shot in the head. Minnie knew him as a bookmobile
patron. Minnie has been involved in murder cases before and
her niece’s discovery leads her to realize that she
wants to solve this case to put Kate’s mind at ease.
Minnie’s trusty companion is her cat, Eddie. Together
they form a great team and working together, they set out
to find a killer.
“Gone with the Whisker” is another top-notch read
in a delightful series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but
I think that you’ll want to read all of the books in
the Bookmobile Cat Mystery series.
Highly recommended to readers who enjoy an excellent cozy
mystery and especially to those who love libraries and cats!
