As Thanksgiving approaches Merry Wilkinson is busy getting
her shop, Mrs. Claus’s Treasures ready for the Christmas
shopping season. Her mother, Aline is having weekend guests
and needs Merry around to help keep things pleasant. The visitors
are Aline’s college friends and it is clear from the
start that they don’t like each other, and verbal abuse
is tossed about among the women making the atmosphere fraught
with bitterness and anger.
One of the ladies, Karla, has a severe nut
allergy and she dies after eating curried egg salad laced
with crushed peanuts. Someone meant to kill her, but who and
why? Merry once again dons her sleuthing cap to find the murderer
and restore order to Rudolph, New York in time for Thanksgiving.
It is a Christmas gift in August to have a
new Year-Round Christmas mystery to read. “Silent Night,
Deadly Night” is a wonderful addition to this holiday-themed
series. It was fun to be able to visit Rudolph again and to
have a look into what Merry and her friends and families are
up to.
As with the previous books, you will find
enough intrigue to keep you riveted and turning the pages
as you try to figure out who the murderer is.
Christmas 2019 will be here soon. This book,
or perhaps the entire series should be on your personal wish
list and on your list to give to other cozy mystery fans.
