Truth
and Lies
By Rida Allen
Valerie
Adamson's divorce from her husband, Craig, leaves her with a mortgaged
house and mounting debt contracted by Craig. Her furniture has been
repossessed. She is desperate about her future since she has no
income and no training for the current job market.
George
Richards, divorced from Bernice, is raising their 4-year-old daughter
Jess. He is desperate to find a nanny for Jess as their current
nanny, Jennifer, has told him that her husband has been transferred
so she will be leaving the area.
George's
brother, Erik, is married to Robyn, Valerie's best friend and neighbor.
When Robyn learns of George's problem she suggests that Valerie
apply for the job. She sees this as an ideal solution to both George's
and Valerie's problems. This will give Valerie a place to live and
an income. It will give George his nanny.
Valerie
sells her house and moves out of state, not sure that she is making
the right decision. It doesn't take long before the three become
a family only to have this threatened by her ex-husband and his
ex-wife.
This
is a wholesome, pleasant story about two people who have the opportunity
to experience a second chance at happiness and love. The development
of the growing romance between Valerie and George is a delight to
read. The plot is well developed with the characters realistic and
human. This is a quick read with no violence, no explicit sex, and
no vulgar language which will leave the reader with a refreshing
feeling of well being.
