Blindsided
Silhouette Special Edition #1716
by Leslie LaFoy
After the untimely death of her brother, Catherine "Cat" Talbott finds out that she has
inherited his minor league hockey team, the Wichita Warriors. She wants to keep her brother’s
dream alive, but is clueless on what it takes to manage the team. With mounting bills
that have been left unpaid, she is desperate to find a solution. Her answer comes to her
in the form of a newspaper clipping in her brother’s office of Logan Dupree.
Ex-Pro Hockey Player Logan Dupree was once the top of his sport. His career was suddenly
cut short when an accident left him blind in one eye. His days are spent soaking his sorrows
in drink aboard a boat in Tampa Bay. He is puzzled when he receives an unexpected visit
from Catherine Talbott. He is familiar with her through her deceased brother, Tom. He
remembers him as the one person who believed in his talent enough to give him a chance
that led him to his professional career. When she offers him the opportunity to return
to the game he loves as a coach, he is less than thrilled, but he feels he owes it to
her brother’s memory to help her out of her dilemma.
When a man who refuses to be tamed is suddenly captured by Cat’s gentle persuasion,
will it be enough to tame his reluctant soul and break down the resistance of his hardened
heart?
Sports fans will delight when they are treated with a very special book from Leslie LaFoy.
For me, this book brought together two of my greatest interests: hockey and imperfect
characters in one welcome edition. The smooth writing style that Ms. LaFoy displays is
a true work of art. For those romance fans who are looking for a refreshing new experience,
this is the book to pick up and dive into. Readers be warned that you will want to set
aside the time to read this book in one sitting. Once you start, there is no way you can
finish until you reach the last page. Very highly recommended. |
