Cupid Inc.
by Michelle Bardsley
A cold afternoon and a great cup of coffee is all I had when I started and finished this
book in one sitting. It was a fantastic and sexy read based on some Greek mythological
characters you might remember from your school days, who help "mortals" find love in Las
Vegas. Even though there are a lot of references to mythological characters, I was surprised
how easily I "got" the references to the characters, which weren't overly abstract. Enough
info was given about lesser known gods and goddesses.
This book contains four short stories: "The Accountant and the Virgin," "The Stars in
Her Eyes," "One Mile Up ...A Little to the Left," and "The Spy Who Rubbed Me." Each was good
and taken as a whole, made this book a fun read. It's a toss up which story was my favorite.
But the last story, "The Spy Who Rubbed Me" was very interesting and suspenseful in a very
James Bond sort of way. The ending was perfect with Paul Aris, a reformed jewel thief,
and Helen Manzana truly finding out why they were meant to be together.
Michelle Bardsley's style of writing is fantastic. I was caught up in the stories, laughed
out loud a few times and definitely lost track of time. The stories transport you to Vegas,
and her writing makes you get involved in the characters and the plot. |
