Extreme Bachelor
by Julia London
Michael Raney and Leah Klein, main characters in Extreme Bachelor, are a couple in
Manhattan, but Michael dumps Leah and poor Leah's life goes in the dumps. She wallows in
her self pity and then leaves New York and moves to Hollywood, getting small roles in
not-so-glamorous TV commercials (promoting constipation medicine) and landing a role in
the new film, The War of the Soccer Moms. Pre-production requires that she go through
stunt training and who does she run into? Michael, and he's got a reputation for being
connected to a lot of ladies on the set. He tries to win her over; the love and desire
is still there, for both of them.
The story is a great second chance romance, you root for this couple, even when danger
that comes into their lives from Michael's previous career as a CIA operative. I loved
the ending. It was perfect. Also, I loved one of the supporting characters, Lucy; their
emails back and forth were laugh-out loud funny. Who knew a dress color was that hard to
pick out?
Julia London writes a great book. Great characters and an interesting story made this
a hard book to put down. I'm curious to read her previous works and look forward to her
future releases. |
