I chose It’s About Your Husband to review because I knew from the title and checking out the cover that it
was going to be a comedy. I found the book funny all through it and I wasn’t disappointed for a minute.
This book relates to the fact that most wives are suspicious of their husbands cheating and there will be
millions of us wondering, and most of our suspicions will be true of course.
In the case of Iris she suspects her husband is cheating on her and instead of hiring a private investigator
she does the unthinkable and hires her friend, Vicky. Vicky is upset about losing her job and her marriage, and
she’s searching for something to bring in the money. Of course you never hire an unprofessional because Iris’
husband Steve finds out and the blackmail is on.
The tables are turned on Iris, and she now has to play Steve’s game. Ms. Lipton is a very gifted writer with
her sense of humor and her twists and turns in this hilarious novel. I love Ms. Lipton’s voice and her wit.
I was glued from the beginning and during the middle and at the very end of the novel with the class of writing
that Ms. Lipton has portrayed. It’s About Your Husband is a funny attempt at losing everything, and then
finding everything. I was motivated with Vicky and her credit card bills, and being broke. I actually associated
with her loneliness too.
This novel educated and entertained and spoke volumes to me that life can’t be taken seriously all the time,
but can also be full of silly manifestations of humor and comedy. I was impressed with It’s About Your Husband.
If you want a book that will make you forget about your troubles for the moment; or a book that will remind you that
there’s a rainbow at the end of the tunnel, then this is the book for you.
