One More Time

by Claire Cross

I have to admit that I was attracted to this book by the cover. I clicked on amazon.com and noticed the cover and I fell in love with the picture perfect art. I knew this book was going to give me some comic relief; the cover told a very funny story. I had to review this book.

Despite the laughter, Ms. Cross tells a story of a marriage with all its trials and tribulations. We all can relate to the fact that Matt Coxwell decided to leave his wife and daughter, but leaving his marriage didn’t make his life a piece of cake when he went to live with his ex-fiancée. Matt soon found this out after being so hopelessly in love with his wife. Sometimes you have to leave a situation to better understand it.

Ms. Cross made me believe in this contemporary romance. Leslie Coxwell was able to reevaluate her life after her husband walked out on her. She was also able to see the real Leslie and get to know herself. Matt leaving was a good thing, but Leslie isn’t giving up on her marriage. She’s going to use the one apple in her basket to win back her husband, and resolve their issues.

I found this book to be very entertaining. I hadn’t laughed so much in a long time; I forgot about the mundane aspects of everyday life and gloried in Matt and Leslie’s story. I was rooting for their marriage to work after all the issues.

I recommend One More Time by Clair Cross because this book makes you smile, but it also gives you hope that -one more time- marriage can survive against all odds. I give it five stars.
