Tempt Me

by Lucy Monroe

Lady Irisa Langely is the perfect, proper lady in appearance, in action, and in fact.

If Lucas, Lord Ashton - otherwise known as The Saint - were to special order a bride, she would have Irisa's specifications. It was no surprise to anyone in the ton when he proposed marriage and she accepted.

Everyone, Irisa included, assumes Lucas chose her for all of her outward qualities. And while they were the first attraction, Lucas realized that it was more than that. Suddenly, Lucas found life more interesting with the "impetuous baggage" at his side.

Irisa would be happy to stay at Lucas' side, if only he loved her. As she realizes his reputation as The Saint is well-earned, she realizes she cannot marry him and subject him to her scandal-hiding family. Her numerous attempts to flee the marriage, and save Lucas from himself, are met with his firm resolution that the marriage will go forward. The last thing he needs is to be faced with the scandal of a runaway bride.

While most of the plot line will be very familiar to romance readers, the hero is worth reading! The title of this story is Tempt Me, but it should be Trust Me since that is the underlying theme. Each character offers more than his and her fair share of temptation to the other, but Lucas' insistence that Irisa trust him, and the manner in which he follows through, make him a hero every woman can love. Ms. Monroe does a marvelous job at creating a hero worth dreaming about.
