Your Big Break
by Johanna Edwards
Your Big Break is a fantastic and funny story about Dani Myers, break-up arranger
extraordinaire. Keeping her work separate from her parents seems easy at first, until one
of her clients hires Dani to arrange a breakup with someone who turns out to be Dani's
own dad, who is still married to her mom. Slowly but surely, we see how becoming
personally involved is not necessarily a good thing and how knowing about the affair
brings both conflict with and closeness to her brother, who still lives at home. A special
relationship is formed when she becomes close to a client's failed interest, and she's
not honest, but her heart is in the right place. You really want life (with her family
and personally) for Dani to work out.
Johanna Edwards has a way of making each character vivid in this story. A must read
for anyone who loves ChickLit. It was a quick and fun read; I could not put it down. Be
sure to check out "The Ten Biggest Break-up Excuses, Redefined", you'll be laughing out
loud with this one. |
