Be Still My Vampire Heart

by Kerrelyn Sparks

Ms. Sparks wins again with her latest vampire romance. Her leading man is hot as heck and the additional perk of his being a highlander with a kilt will awe female readers. The heroine is sassy and brave to the point of foolishness when it comes to slaying fanged creatures, but the sparks that fly when these two get together would start a bonfire of volcanic proportions.

Emma Wallace is on a quest: slay as many vampires as she can and avenge her parents’ deaths. Her killing expedition is going just fine when a more than fine - sexy as all get-out - Scotsman gets in her way. Angus of the broad shoulders, kissable mouth and impressive broadsword is a sexual fantasy come to life. But the braw laddie also sports some awesome fangs along with a heart that is solid gold.

Angus’ mission is to stop the television copycat vampire slayer. He will succeed even if he has to take the beautiful and sexy woman’s life. However, what he doesn’t figure on is losing his heart in the process. Emma might be misguided as to the fact that not all vampires are murdering bloodsuckers, but when she looks at him at first with hurt, then trust, and finally love in her eyes, he vows to protect her from all harm, even if it means a horrible death for himself.

The plot is intricate and past characters return to up the antics and tension even more in this most remarkable tale of fanged love.
