The Great Betrayal
by Millenia Black
The Great Betrayer by Millenia Black: the book lives up to its title in every sense of the word. I was deeply
involved with this story, and honestly I couldn’t put the book down.
Ms. Black takes you to the present and back to the past so deftly, you don’t know the difference. You understand
why present events were taking place, and were able to find the answers to puzzling questions when she retraces back
to the past. This book brought up many issues that we face, and how we handle them. Leslie chose a different path
to handle the conflicts in her life, and she paid a very high price for it. I understood some of Leslie’s actions,
but I didn’t agree with most of them.
Dawn, Luke, Kathryn, and Grace are some memorable characters and they all enhanced the lives of Leslie and Jeff
in a profound way. I was flabbergasted at the shocking twists and turns this book took. I believed in one scenario,
but was astonished when I found out that I was totally wrong. Ms. Black kept the reader guessing until the very end.
On a scale from 1-10, I definitely give this book 10. Ms. Black is a talented writer, and I can’t wait to read
many more of her books like The Great Pretender and her next book, The Great Mastermind. If you
like a book with romance, family obstacles and scandals, The Great Betrayal by Millenia Black is a
must-read for you. |
