McKerrigan continues to amaze readers with this third book in the Warrior Maids Of Rivenloch series. Although
the author says this is the last, I pray there are more of these enchanting romances to come.
The hero in her latest tale is hot, tenderhearted and nigh on frightened to death of the youngest Rivenloch maid.
The maiden, Miriel, is beautiful, smart and has a secret life that most women of today would love. Outstanding read!
Miriel has lived most of her life in the shadow of her older sisters. Shadow being the key word when handsome
Rand comes to Rivenloch to supposedly reestablish his relationship with Miriel, His real intention is to capture the
elusive thief called the Shadow, a character who has appeared in both previous books. Rand’s plan is plain -pretend
to be infatuated with Miriel, find the thief and return to the lord who is paying him to do the deed. What he doesn’t
see coming is a miniature and feisty maiden who lip-locks him in front of her warrior sisters. He decides her
playacting will work in his favor but learns that spending time with Miriel can be dangerous when she plays the
siren.
Miriel finds the lying knight, who she has never met before despite his declaration they met at a tourney at
Rivenloch, handsome and seductive. His kisses singe her lips and his tender lovemaking steals her heart. She’s
ready to tell him all her secrets but before she can, he betrays her by capturing The Shadow. A feat hard to do
since she has been the thief for some years unbeknownst to her family. She discovers her mentor has dressed in her
black garb and it is he who is now awaiting hanging.
With her heart in shards of grief, she decides to help Sung Li escape and in the process kill the man who betrayed
her love. The fight is bloody and full of surprises when the man she expected to take down easily ends up unmasking
Miriel.
