Delaney Cartwright is getting the last touches done, with her Texas socialite mother, for her wedding to her
childhood friend, Evan. One of these last touches is a veil that Delaney finds while out with her friends, a veil
of which she knows her mother will disapprove. Once she sees and touches the veil, she realizes it would not be
fair to her or Evan if she went through with the nuptials. However, Delaney is in a dilemma. Her wedding is
supposed to be the social event of the year.
To make matters worse, Delaney attempts to spark up something with Evan and ends up grabbing the handsome
Detective, Nick Vinetti. What will happen with Delaney and Evan?
As with most of Lori Wilde’s novels, her characters have a bit of humor to them, which adds to their realistic
nature. Delaney’s characterization appears to be real, especially in the scenes with Delaney and her friends.
The scene with the mystical veil is a little unrealistic, but still enjoyable, as most brides feel they have to
have a certain something in their weddings.
The chemistry between Delaney and Evan allows for a comparison to the chemistry between Delaney and Nick. The
passion in There Goes the Bride is enjoyable and not too overwhelming as in some romance novels. Overall,
another solid romance novel from Lori Wilde.
