All I Want For Christmas Is A Vampire
by Kerrelyn Sparks
Ms. Sparks is awesome. Yes, I know that seems a bit over the top, but truthfully, all her Vampire books are
fascinating. All I Want For Christmas Is A Vampire follows her unsullied record. Ian MacPhie, who has
been in all the previous books as a secondary vamp, is untouchable as a hunky, Scottish vamp. The heroine, Toni
Davis, is a tough day guard for the undead while they sleep, and isn't afraid of kicking vampire butt, Ian's in
particular.
Ian loves being a vampire but thinks that always being viewed as a fifteen-year-old kid, instead of the
over four-hundred-year-old man or creature he is, bites. After taking a Stay Awake drug on an assignment in Texas,
he ages twelve years. His sexual experience is pretty much null and void, since most women won't take him seriously
as a bed mate. Now, he's taller, a bit more aged and ready to find a mate.
With a bit of help from some former harem members, Ian creates a dating video which gets him more attention than
he wants. The fact that new guard Toni, (whom Ian thought was a man before they met and is more mortal woman than
a vamp could want) detests him, has Ian wanting to do all he can to get into her good books and bed.
Toni only took the guard job to find out more about vampires in general. Connor, who is in charge of security,
gave her the job after she was maliciously attacked by malcontent vampires and left for dead. Falling for the sexy
and hotter than Hades Ian—her current boss—is not something on her agenda. Getting her best friend out
of a psych ward and proving there are vampires is what she wants. What she gets is hot and heavy breathing from Ian,
whom she finds harder to ignore than she thought he would be. When Ian helps Toni rescue her friend and puts his
life on the line for her, she is ready to take a plunge on the wild side with a man whose bite is out of this world. |
