Bond of Fire
Texas Vampire series #2
by Diane Whiteside
Jean-Marie St. Just, vampire knight, and Helene d'Agelet, vampire secret agent, fall madly in love. Their affair is
disrupted by the Napoleonic War and, for centuries, they each believe the other is dead.
Helene's sister Celeste de Sainte-Pozane is a double agent in love with powerful vampiro mayor Don
Rodrigo Perez. Celeste's lover, Rauol, killed her parents; so, in revenge, Helene killed Raoul. Both sisters have
been made vampires and are now hunting each other down for revenge. The two lovers are reunited with their
romance crossing several centuries from their meeting in 1787 to their reunion in present day Texas.
This is an exploration of centuries of history with a very complex and confusing story. It is the story of
great betrayal, of abiding love, of great joy. The characters are well defined. The descriptions are clever.
There is enough French and Spanish woven into the story to warrant a glossary at the end of the book to give the
meaning of the words. |
