Sabrina Swann has returned to Swann Island to recover from a terrorist bomb attack on the hotel in Florence, Italy she was managing. She, too, is seeking the tranquility of the town.

Although Sabrina had had a crush on Zach in her school years, the two haven't seen each other for more than ten years. They meet again when Zach comes to her grandmother's home, Swannsea, to make some repairs. The attraction from their youth is rekindled, but is overshadowed by a serial killer who stalks the community, torturing and murdering women.
