Miss Prestwick’s Crusade
by Anne Barbour
Helen Prestwick arrives at Whitehouse Abbey with her duenna and the infant William, the son of her late sister. The
news she carries is bound to be devastating to the new Earl of Camberwell, for she has come to prove that her nephew
is the legitimate son of the former Earl, and the rightful inheritor of the title. Trouble is, she has no marriage
lines to prove a wedding took place, and Edward Beresford must enjoy his new power - or does he?
This is an entertaining Regency romance charting the rocky progress of Helen and Edward’s burgeoning love affair.
What can have happened in Helen’s past that she is so wary of, and how can the marriage be proved? Who is working
against Helen and why? I confess to always enjoying these relaxing and amiable romances, and reading about what it
must have been like to live in one of the great country houses now open to the public. It is a quick read,
engrossing and enjoyable and I look forward to more in the same vein by this author. |
