Really Something

by Shirley Jump

Really Something, by Shirley Jump, is a very fast paced, wonderfully written book that everyone can relate to. Did you feel un-noticed when you were younger, moving through the days like you didn’t seem to matter to anyone? Did you get picked on by the school’s bully? How about spending your days eating everything that you could get your hands on trying to make all the hurt go away? If this sounds like your life, then this book will hit home!

Alli Dean left small town life to become the person that she wanted to be, the person that she thought everyone wanted her to be. Blonde, tall and slim, all of the right curves in the right spots, and a sense of humor to match.

7 years later, she returns to her hometown looking much different and with a new name in the hopes of putting some of the pain and hurt of her past behind her. What she doesn’t take into consideration are her feelings for a boy she once loved.

Alli spent her high school days tutoring the football star, but did he even know she existed? He pretended to like her, but when he invited her to the prom and then stood her up, her life started falling apart. So returning to this town is very hard on Alli. All of those feelings start flooding her mind and make her want to lash out at those who were unkind and hurtful to her. No one remembers her, so she is able to continue on with her plan until one day, the sky falls in on her... literally!

How will Alli’s secret be discovered? Who will she hurt in the process, who will she help? Keep reading this great book for the answers to these questions and a whole bunch more. Shirley did a wonderful job and you will enjoy every word!
