A Summer Affair, by Elin Hilderbrand... what can I say about this book, I'm thinking. No, really, I am trying
to formulate in my mind how I want to say: this is a great summer book and I recommend that you read it!
Recently, I took a short, but much needed, vacation to a summer spot on the Gulf of Mexico called South Padre
Island. During which time I started reading this book. So imagine me sitting by the pool, and then on the beach,
reading A Summer Affair... it's perfect for that sort of time.
I know not everyone is married and maybe you’re not even in that perfect relationship, but you try as you might
to make your life the best that it can be. Hopefully, you haven’t taken that step in the wrong wrong direction,
then stepped back to scrutinize your life and see where it's gone wrong. Unfortunately, Claire Danner Crispin has
done just that.
Clare’s life is good. She has a husband she loves, four beautiful and smart kids she adores, and friends she
spends time with. What is missing in her life? No wait, I will tell you. Claire is missing, or what Claire used to
be. She is and will always be an artist and she makes beautiful glass. How many people have you known in your life
who can claim that they are glass blowers and actually can make a living at it? Not many, I am sure. That part of
her life is over, or is it? Read the book to find out.
Lock Dixon is a millionaire, has a wife and lovely daughter, but life is not easy for him. His wife, Daphne, was
in a car accident and since then, she just isn’t right. Instead of working in the city during the week and coming
home on the weekends, now Lock works on Nantucket Island year around doing what he loves to do. Every year his
non-profit agency holds a Summer Gala event to raise money for the children’s charities on Nantucket. He wants this
one to be the best ever and he wants Claire to be the chairperson.
Find out how well the charity event goes, find out the relationships lived and lost in this book, find out what
makes a person a happy person, find out why you want to read this book. It’s fast paced, well written and a truly
great book which you will enjoy immensely!
