That's Amore
by Wendy Markham
Wendy Markham (a pseudonym for best-selling author Wendy Corsi Staub) is a sensational author. That's Amore is
a fun, fast-paced, captivating book to read. Along with being a contemporary romance, the story has meaning which goes
much deeper, dealing with loss, grief, and the courage to heal. The characters are very life-like and likeable. I
enjoyed this book immensely and highly recommend it to others.
Daria Marshall is an Interior Designer and a psychic, with a knack for seeing dead people. She's always been a
drifter, drifting wherever the wind seemed to take her. The problem is, the wind isn't currently blowing in any
particular direction. With her alimony payments running out, she'd better figure out where she wants to go next,
and get there.
Ralphie Chickalini is still reeling from his father's recent death. Ralphie hates change and can't let himself
move on. While at a New Year's Eve party, Ralphie is dumped by his long-time girlfriend. The relationship actually
had ended long before that night and Ralphie is relieved that it's over. He wishes her all the best; he just didn't
have "those" feelings for her, that's all.
Daria has been staying with her sister, Tammy, in Manhattan and briefly meets Ralphie at the New Year's Eve party.
Her path crosses with his again and then again. Daria has strong feelings towards Ralphie but feels the need to
move on, which is nowhere near as scary to her as staying and taking a chance on Ralphie. Ralphie has some work to
do himself. He needs to sell his childhood home and find his own place for the very first time in his life. More
than anything else he needs to learn to deal with the grief following his father's death. So will Daria and
Ralphie's paths cross yet again? |
