What Isabella Desires

by Anne Mallory

The book started out a bit slower than I like, but by the 5th or 6th chapter it started to pick up a bit. I wouldn't say it's the best historical romance that I have ever read, but it was a good enough book if you’re looking for some light reading.

Isabella is a widow and she has been in love with Lord Roth ever since she first laid eyes on him, when they both were very young. His family moved back to the country and she didn't hear from him or see him for many years. When their paths finally crossed again, she fell in love with him all over again. But Lord Roth was not the same as when he went into hiding and Isabella was willing to do whatever it took to find out what happened during those many years in isolation.

Lord Marcus Roth is covering up many secrets and one of them is about his health. He is afraid of getting too close to Lady Willoughby (Isabella) for fear that he will hurt her, and he is trying to take whatever precautions necessary to make sure that does not happen. But Isabella can be quite persuasive when she sets her sights on something she wants, and Marcus is that something!

Keep reading to find out if the two of them ever get together and what Lord Roth's secrets are!
