Fourteen-year-old Belinda was raised in a life of luxury. Her father made the decision to take her and the rest of
his family away from their Illinois home to uncharted territory in the West. Belinda was all for the idea of seeing
something new, but her mother’s protests forewarned that tragedy lay ahead.
Belinda’s adventure into the West turns into her worst nightmare as she listens to the wrong people. Overnight she
finds herself losing everything she loves and is faced with learning to survive by her own instincts. She manages to
find shelter in a brothel in the far-off mining town of Silver Peak. Her faith is tested, for she can’t believe God
would allow her face such dire circumstances alone.
At the brothel she is welcomed by the owner, Jewell, and her other ladies of the evening. Each of them has her own
story of how they ended up selling their bodies in order to survive. But Jewell’s generosity is not what it seems, and
Belinda will have to decide whether to leave or to stay in the brothel and become employed alongside her friends. It
will take all her strength to find out which is the wisest path.
The Crossroads of Grace series has been one of the best historical romances I have discovered in many years.
I have grown to love each one of these books and their characters. This is the type of series that presents a down-home
feel that warms the heart. Allison K. Pittman you’ve outdone yourself in this wonderful series. Very highly recommended.
