Diamonds of Welbourne Manor
Harlequin Historical Series
by Diane Gaston, Deb Marlowe, Amanda McCabe
The Diamonds of the title are Justine, Annalise and Charlotte, children of the Duke and
Duchess of Manning of Welbourne Manor. The household of the notorious Fitzmannings of
Welbourne Manor includes the Duke and Duchess's various children: his legitimate sons by a
previous wife, his illegitimate daughter by an unknown mistress, her legitimate son by her
first marriage, and their illegitimate daughters born before they married. They share the
mansion with fun and enjoyment of each other. The greatest problem is to find a suitable
husband for each of the daughters.
In separate novellas: "Justine and the Noble Viscount," "Annalise and the Scandalous
Duke" and "Charlotte and the Wicked Lord," the daughters find their own futures and love
stories. The common thread in these novellas is the genuine affection they show each
other.
The characters are real and likeable. The affection they show each other is heartwarming.
The stories provide a picture of the mores and life of that period of time. This is an
excellently written anthology which is pure escapism. |
