Ms. Sands' second in the Hunter series is just as good as the first. Decker, one of the characters
from The Rogue Hunter (also reviewed
on Myshelf.com), is excellent as a vamp who finds himself facing a lifemate. The heroine is kick-butt
and takes no lip off of any of the Argeneaus The romance excels, the emotions are on key, and the
vampire sex is hot as always. Looking forward to reading the next installment.
Decker is ready for a well-deserved vacation after he and fellow rogue vampire hunters catch their man.
A chance word from their prisoner sends him and his new partner on a hunt for an old rogue vampire. The
rogue is caught but then leads Decker to a nest of "No Fang" vamps who have been torturing and killing
young women. Decker is determined to save Dr. Dani McGill and her sister from the sadistic
fiends—only one of the vamps makes off with the younger McGill.
Dani is in shock. How could stopping for a few snacks result in she and her sister Stephanie being
kidnapped and threatened with death? When the cavalry shows up, she is hopeful all will be okay, but
that's before one tall, dark, and handsome hunk is shot, tries to read her mind, and loses the vehicle
they arrived in. After appropriating the villain's van, they are off to rescue her sister, and Dani
begins to realize something is terribly wrong with her hero. Decker keeps looking at her like she's a
scrumptious piece of candy. Her feeling intensifies when she meet's Decker's Uncle Lucian, who after
venting his disgust at how the job went down, declares she is Decker's lifemate.
Decker in the meantime is clueless on how to control a woman he can't read and finds he can't keep
his fangs or lust under control. When Dani is kidnapped again, he is ready to pull out his fangs but
will do anything to rescue the love of his immortal life, even if that means putting his own life at
stake.
