Embrace the Night Eternal
Awakening Heroes Series, book 2
by Joss Ware
Through the dirty deeds of the evil Strangers, the world nearly ends—leaving only the
really hot people to rebuild. Okay, the book doesn't actually say that only the hot people are
left alive, but virtually every person described is hot and hunky. This doesn't really bode well
for me in the coming apocalypse, but I digress.
In this second book of the series, Simon Japp, one of the "supermen" who slept through the
first fifty post-apocalyptic years and woke up without having aged a day, discovers his superpower
is invisibility. He decides to keep his ability secret until he needs it to save the beautiful and
exciting Sage—a hot computer geek, for sure. Sage was born on a commune where polygamy is
practiced in order to produce as many offspring as possible. Sage has to go back in order to
discover important information about the Strangers and extend their network of resistance. Simon
goes along to protect her and pretend to be her husband. Unfortunately they find out that the
commune expects Simon to do his duty and get Sage pregnant right away—and on camera! As if
this isn't suffering enough, he also deals with an old girlfriend turned evil foe.
If you like your apocalypse novels with lots of sexy scenes and hot bodies—this one rocks. |
