Break out author, Dean, has struck gold with her suspense romance, Heart Of The Witch.
From the first page to the last it is riveting, explosive, romantic, and gut wrenching to say the
least. The heroine is a practicing witch, although a good one, and the hero is a washed-up cop who
drinks and smokes too much until he is called in to find the Tin Man, a serial killer who tortures
his victims before they die. All in all, this is one book that will be read over and over again by
this reviewer.
Ravyn leaves a restaurant and finds herself tied to a hospital bed—at the mercy of a
killer. His deranged attitude has already cost several women their lives. She refuses to be his
next victim. Against all rules of her coven she maims The Tin Man in a place he will never use to
rape another woman. After her rescue she is hounded by local police for details on the killer. She
gives them what she can but is afraid to say more—she does not want to lose her place in
the coven.
Nick is a despondent, alcohol-drinking chain smoker. After leaving the police force he opens a
Private Investigator agency, where he is asked to find the Tin Man for one of the victim's bereaved
husband. He knows it is a lost cause, the police can't find him, so why would Nick be able to? Still,
when a surviving victim is discovered, he goes to work for her and her sister as a handyman to get
close to the beautiful and seductive Ravyn.
When her sister becomes the next victim, with a bit of help from Ravyn's former boyfriend
Kayne—a witch turned bad—Nick and Ravyn find themselves in the middle of a paranormal
mess. Nick's office blows up, Ravyn is being stalked, and when another woman is kidnapped they fight
to bring her home alive. In the midst of their struggles, Kayne is weaving spells to bring Ravyn to
him and to steal Nick's soul. Now, they are fighting not only for life but also for salvation against
an evil that cannot be killed as easily as the Tin Man.
