Simply Irresistible
First Release in the Lucky Harbor Novel series

By Jill Shalvis

When Maddie Moore’s mother, “Pheeb” dies, Maddie heads for Washington’s Lucky Harbor Resort to meet her two half- sisters, Chloe and Tara. Together, the three inherited an old inn, and Maddie hopes to fix it up to use as a source of income, since she lost her job in L.A. after defending herself against her boyfriend, the company attorney. Chloe and Tara soon realize that Maddie’s boyfriend beat her and she needs the escape. They agree to give Maddie until Christmas to fix up the place. If it’s not a “go” after that, then they will sell the place.

Once in town Lucky Harbor, Maddie nearly runs over Jax Cullen, a sexy man on a motorcycle who later invites her to a bar for a drink. The attraction between the two is instantaneous and strong. Maddie has little desire to get involved with another man and Jax, sensing Maddie’s vulnerability and then witnessing her cringe when he tries to brush hair off her face, soon realizes why. Though both have reasons to protect their hearts and avoid each other, the attraction between them is like bees and honey, and all the sweeter when Maddie realizes she can’t escape him.

Jax is the local only repairman. When she learns that he specializes is fixing things up and restoring them to their former glory, she wonders if he can do the same for her. As the repairs progress, Maddie notices that Tara and Ford must have had something going in the past, and then the Sheriff stops by…the third musketeer for Chloe..

But can the growing relationship between Maddie and Jax survive when she discovers that Jax, in addition to being the town mayor and co-owner of “the Love Shack” bar with Ford is also an ex-attorney? Will it bring back the hurt she left behind? Or is their initial attraction “simply irresistible”?

Jill Shalvis has a definite winner in Simply Irresistible. I loved the humor, the wonderful characters and the sizzling hot romance – obvious from the very start of this delightful book. Jax is so hot that reading this novel was like an early Christmas present – one I absolutely loved.
