The Sweethearts’ Knitting Club

by Lori Wilde

Flynn MacGregor is a woman is always there for her friends and family. She always puts everyone’s needs ahead of hers. For ten years she continued to turn down a marriage proposal from Beau Trainer, Twilight’s sheriff. She turned him down due to her having to take care of her mother when she was sick, to take care of her father when he was drunk, and to raise her younger sister. When she was sixteen, Flynn had met Jesse Calloway, a bad boy who came to Twilight to live with his aunt. Flynn and Jesse had an instant spark which caused a lot of turmoil among citizens of the town of Twilight.

Lori Wilde continues to write characters which engage readers. Flynn’s character is real, and many women in today’s world can relate to having to step aside from their own wants and needs to be there for their loved ones. Jesse and Beau’s feud is well developed and even though it’s a little adolescent in nature, it is fitting given Beau’s character.

The romance is predictable but shows the strength of a relationship and the depths of how far a person will go to stand by the one that they love. Given that the romance began before the book started, it is well established and continues to develop as the pages continue to be turned.
