Swept
Away by a Kiss
By Katharine Ashe
Lady
Valerie Monroe is sailing home to England after an extended stay
in the States. Viscount Steven Ashford is posing as a priest to
bring down a thief and murderer. When his ship is captured both
he and the Lady Valerie are taken hostage. When the Pirate Captain
takes an interest in Valerie the Viscount, posing a priest, tries
to convince him it's best for all to avoid her. The Captain decides
to hold them in the same room. Valerie fell for Ashford at first
sight so when they end up rooming together she lets him. But Ashford's
only interest is fulfilling his duty. When they part ways, Ashford
gives Valerie his bible -- written in French. They meet again in
England at his aunt's house party where Valerie learns who Ashford
really is and what he's up to. Valerie decides she still wants him
and wants in on the adventure. But Ashford continues to reject her.
It's a story of pirates, spies, and frustrated romance. You'll swoon
at the author's description of Ashford. And experience Valerie's
heartache as she pursues him only to be rejected again and again.
It's swift moving, swash buckler/spy adventure with great dialogue
and historical detail. This is one pirate romance I highly recommend.
Oh, and Viscount Steven Ashford really is hot, hot, hot.
