The True Love Quilting Club
Twilight, Texas series, book 2
by Lori Wilde
The True Love Quilting Club introduces Trixie Lynn Parks, an actress trying to make
it in the big city who never really had a solid home. She has changed her name and everything
to try to make it. After several long years of acting in Off-Broadway productions, following
an incident that made getting out of town a good idea, she returns to the small Texas town of
Twilight, a place she called home for about a year. Her best friend, Sam Cheek, remained in
Twilight all those long years and is a strong part of the small town community. Trixie and Sam
are forced to choose what they love more: each other or their careers.
The True Love Quilting Club has very loose ties with some of the characters that were
in The Sweethearts’ Knitting Club (also
reviewed on Myshelf).
It is not necessary to have read the previous book. Trixie Lynn and Sam’s characters are simple
and sweet. Trixie Lynn does not come across as a star gazing actress wannabe, and Sam is a true
Southern gentleman. The setting of the small town of Twilight works for the romance. The romance
itself has some very funny moments and is endearing at the same time. |
