Savaana Hearnes, the fiery tempered and highly athletic Gypsy woman
with a mysterious past, takes on an unusual challenge from Lady
Clarette Tilmont. Clarette, who bears an uncanny resemblance to
Savaana, wants the Gypsy to impersonate her for a few days while
her husband is away on business, and she runs off to cavort with
a lover. Desperate for money to help her ailing grandfather, Savaana
agrees to the unpleasant assignment.
What makes the task so daunting is that Clarette’s husband
and his father have engaged various spies to watch, trick, and seduce
Lady Tilmont during this time. Savaana dons the Lady’s clothes
and snooty attitude, but has trouble containing her own natural
exuberance and appreciation for nature, horses, and acrobatics.
She might be able to fool most of the staff, but Sean Gallagher,
a handsome Irish blacksmith, is more observant than most –
especially because he’s working as a double agent of sorts.
When he works closely with Savaana (disguised as Lady Tilmont),
his various missions fall by the wayside as he develops romantic
feelings for the woman he initially came to destroy.
Sean’s dual mission, Savaana’s undercover assignment,
Clarette’s mysterious rendezvous, and Lord Tilmont’s
strange disappearance are just a few of the many secrets, deceptions,
and pretenses explored in this fun historical romance. Savaana and
Sean keep things spicy with their flirtatious banter, which makes
some of the more far-fetched plot twists easier to embrace. In fact,
it’s almost impossible not to want these two perfectly matched
people to get together once they get past all the lies. An Accidental
Seduction is not the kind of book to be analyzed for its logical
progression and historical accuracy. Just relax, clear your mind,
and enjoy these bold, feisty characters doing what romantic protagonists
and antagonists do best.
