Kyana is half Vampyre and half Lychen, the last of her kind. She has no love loss for the mortals. They imprisoned her and mistreated her. However, when the Order of Ancients gives her a mission, she must take it. She is to find the key that will send the Dark Breed back to hell for eternity. Unfortunately, she is also told that she will have an escort.

Ryker, a demigod and a fierce warrior, is Kyana’s escort. She is not happy about this turn of events. Years ago she and Ryker had a falling out and she’s avoided him ever since. He knows that she is his life mate but he’ll never tell her. She must choose him. Together they must find the key that will save the human world. But at the same time, they must find the traitor within while trying to save those close to them.

Sable Grace is the combined work of authors Heather Waters and Laura Barone. Ascension is the first of the Dark Breed novels. The world these two authors built is new and inventive. They have also intertwined members of the Greek pantheon. I was drawn in from start to finish. The interaction with Artemis and the three Fates was a great addition to the whole story. I love the way they wove it all together. If you’re a lover of paranormal, you’ll love this.
