Tykir Thorksson. Business man, land owner, soldier, and a Viking.
Taking a night off and getting drunk. Along comes an emissary of
his cousin, King Anlaf, trying to bribe him to chase after a witch
said to have cursed the king’s manly jewels and bring her
to the king. No. He must get home before winter sets in. When the
emissary tells Tykir that his adopted brother, Adam the Healer,
is being held hostage, he finally gives in and goes hunting for
the witch.
Lady Alinor of Greycote: Wild orange blond hair and covered from
head to toe with freckles, widowed three times, and trying to hide
from her brothers before they marry her off again. All she wants
to do is raise her sheep and sell her fabrics. But along comes a
Viking who insists that she is a witch and takes her off to deliver
her to King Anlaf. No matter how much she protests, no one will
believe her. What’s a girl to do?
This is a revised version of the first release by the same name.
Although I did not read the first version, I love this one. I laughed
through the whole book. Sandra Hill’s humor is awesome. I
couldn’t put it down. Having read a couple of the books that
come later in this series, I enjoyed going back and reading Tykir’s
story. Hill’s attention to detail of the times and locations
adds to the enjoyment of the story. Although this book is linked
to others in this series, this book stands alone quite well. If
you love to laugh while reading a good romance, this one is for
you. Even if you have already read the first release of this book,
you will still love reading this one. It won’t disappoint.
