Rurik the Blue Viking is a warrior on a mission. He is out to find the witch, Maire of the Moors, who cursed him with a blue zigzag mark down his face; he intends to force her to remove it. He only has three months left to get it removed and return home to his betrothed. If Rurik doesn't make it, the betrothal will be broken. To top it off, he is sick of all the remarks about the Blue Viking.

Rurik is a vain man when it comes to his looks. He knows he is a very comely man and that the blue mark takes away from that. And here he is stuck with Bolthar the Scald and his blasted sagas, and then there are the twins, Toste and Vagn, who are constantly chasing after almost any maid in a skirt. What a troop he has. To make matters worse, he must travel throughout Scotland where they serve that dreadful haggis.

Maire of the Moors has her hands full managing Clan Campbell and fighting off the terrible McNabs. Now she finds herself trapped in a cage hanging over a pit of snakes after her capture by the McNab who is trying to force her to marry him. But when she sees the Blue Viking entering into her keep, she knows that even more trouble is to come. She knows he is here for revenge for the blue mark on his face. How will she protect herself and her broken-down keep and what is left of her Campbell clan from both Rurik and the McNab? How will Rurik and Maire fight the strong passionate desire they feel for each other? How will they all survive Bolthar’s infamous sagas?

Once again Sandra Hill has a winner. I haven’t read one of her books that didn’t keep me in stitches and wrapped up in romance at the same time. This is another re-release of her Viking series. It is another one I will read and re-read. I highly recommend for those who love romance and humor.
