Samantha Kennedy
is an FBI agent who is still haunted by memories and nightmares
of a serial killer who abducted her. Now, to fight those memories
she becomes someone else to find a man who she can be that person
with and with no strings. She found it with Max Ridgeway.
Max Ridgeway
is a man who grew from nothing to a successful businessman. Stepson
to a wealthy well-known man of society, he has made a name for himself.
When he meets Samantha Kennedy, he has no idea who she is. All he
sees is a woman who is out for a good time with no strings attached.
But when he finds her again, he realizes that he wants more. First,
he must find out who she is.
When Max's
brother is kidnapped, Samantha is there and must stay on the inside
to help Max find his brother. But, when he finds out that she is
FBI, he wants her gone. The kidnapper made it clear that if the
rules weren't followed to the letter that Max's brother would suffer
and die.
Samantha knows
what it will cost if the kidnapper finds out that she is FBI. She
must be careful not to let it be known who she is. The kidnapper
is well-known already for torturing and killing his victims whenever
the family doesn't follow the rules to the letter. Can they get
Max's brother back - alive? Can the wild passion between Max and
Sam survive the kidnapper's attempts to eliminate them? Will they
learn each other’s secrets and be able to live with them?
Deadly
Lies was my first Cynthia Eden book. I'm hooked. This was a
great romance and suspense read. This is the third in her romantic
suspense series. The first was Deadly
Fear previously reviewed by MyShelf.com; the second was
Deadly
Heat.
This book kept
me on my toes from start to finish. A serial kidnapper who moves
up to murder. A hot, passionate connection between two characters.
What more could you ask for? I will definitely be looking for the
first two of this series now. This is a keeper for me. I'm sure
it will be for you too.
